Facial
reconstruction is a solitary experience. It is challenging,
technical, creative, and haunting. People have often asked me if I
feel the person is talking to me. Not in words, of course. But
I do sense their individuality emerge along with their physical
self. Art alone is very tangible and spiritual. When you add
human remains to that process, it gives me an intense drive to put a name
to and know this life, this person. I think of their family a lot
as I work and just hope I can help to bring peace to someone still out
there and looking.
